Half-finished Prototype


I've not had a lot of time to work on this project this week, but here's what I have so far.  This is not even a finished prototype yet. The art is not permanent, I stole a free sprite pack of the internet and I'm using it as placeholder art. So, I realized a major drawback of developing for mobile. Since mobile platforms typically only support swipes and taps, a metroidvania style of game may not be a good fit. I've decided to try the movement differently. Basically, you swipe in a direction to dash in that direction. The dash continues until you hit an obstacle. Any enemies in the way of the dash are killed; basically the dash would also serve as your melee attack. I don't know how I would do shooting in this play style, maybe none at all? Anyway, let me know what you think, or if you have some better ideas to make a more mobile friendly game.

Also, as far as pricing goes, last time we spoke I guessed it would be $200. After looking at the work involved, I'm expecting 30hrs of work (my first game, Deep Sea Diver, took about 20hrs to make), and I value my time at $15 an hour currently (professional developers usually charge $20-$30 per hour). So, the full product would be $450. Should the project take longer to make, I won't raise the price. If the project increases in scope (for example, adding more levels than the original three) we can discuss pricing then. I realize this is a lot more than I had estimated earlier, and I understand if you change your mind on the project. Let me know what you think, and if this changes your plans, I'd of course be willing to refund the $50 you paid me. Also, if you would rather do the original space-invaders style of game instead, I'd be willing to do that for $300. A space invaders game is simpler, and I would estimate it taking 20hrs of work to complete.

-Known bugs:

     -Camera shake doesn't trigger if dashing a short distance (max: around 3 tiles)
